Overview
The Master Course `Global Studies – A European perspective` is an interdisciplinary, research-based Master offered by a consortium of five European universities:
Roskilde Universitet
London School of Economics and Political Science
Universität Leipzig
Universität Wien
Uniwersytet Wroclawski
The European Master in Global Studies is a two year`s Master and divided into four phases (two winter and two summer terms). The Course is modularised and integrated: All students are supposed to study at year one at one of the European partner universities (London School of Economics, Roskilde University, University of Leipzig, University of Vienna, University of Wroclaw) and for the second year at a different European partner university. Furthermore European students have the possibility to spend one semester at the non-European partner universities.

Eligibility

A bachelors degree or recognised equivalent from an accredited institution in Social Sciences or Humanities
A sufficient undergraduate training to do graduate work in chosen field
Very good academic performance
Excellent English skills
Furthermore we do appreciate if applicants have at least a basic knowledge of German

Scholarship
Erasmus Mundus, the EU Commission offers scholarships to selected highly qualified students:
This scholarship covers for the complete tuition fees;
Category A scholarships (applicants for non- EU member states) include a single travel allowance of € 8,000 and living allowance of € 1,000 per month;
Category B scholarships (applicants from EU member states) include a single travel allowance of € 3,000 and living allowance of € 500 per month.

Certified copy or original hard copy of English (and if applicable Danish, German or/and Polish) language test results.
Applicants whose native language is not English must provide test scores for one of the following standardized English proficiency tests:
TOEFL (international): minimum score of 550 paper-based (or 213 computer-based or 80 internet-based).
IELTS: minimum score of 6,5
CPE: Grades A, B, C (Certificate of Proficiency in English)
CAE: Grades A, B (Certificate in Advanced English)
Applicants who have studied for more than one year in, or received a degree from, a college or university where English is both the language of instruction and the native language are not requested to take one of the above-mentionend proficiency test. An official certificate from the applicants` school/university is required to confirm that English is medium of instruction.
Two recommendation letters by academic teachers or employers (in a separate envelope, sealed by the persons recommending the candidate) including the reference names and e-mail addresses

Asia Pacific Leadership Program (APLP) 2010

The Asia Pacific Leadership Program (APLP) is the center of excellence for leadership education in the Asia Pacific region. The APLP is a graduate certificate program combining the development of regional expertise with the enhancement of individual leadership capacity.

The program’s core philosophy is that leadership potential is most successfully realized when it is developed alongside an ability to critically evaluate real-world events and issues, to think regionally and to work collaboratively. The APLP empowers future leaders with the knowledge, skills, experiences and supportive community needed to successfully navigate personal and regional change in the 21st century.

As the world becomes increasingly interconnected and complex, the need for exceptional leadership continues to grow. Leaders who can successfully navigate change require creative vision and the capacity to chart and act upon that vision. The APLP equips participants to become agents of change in the Asia-Pacific through the provision of high quality program content, an emphasis on applied experiential learning and the development of an alumni network of excellence that spans the Asia Pacific.
Ultimately, navigating change requires information, insight, appetite for discovery, concerted effort, clarity of purpose, supportive community and strong leadership. The APLP program enhances these elements to develop effective leaders who can successfully navigate individual and institutional change in times of profound and constant uncertainty.
The APLP is a signature program of the East-West Center. Graduates leave the East-West Center with an expansive Asia Pacific regional perspective. They are knowledgeable about the societies and issues of the Asia Pacific region and are trained to exercise leadership and promote cooperation in a variety of cultural, geographic and institutional environments. APLP alumni are navigators of change in the Asia Pacific.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree and Grade Point Average: Applicants must have a 4-year bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited U.S. college or university or from a recognized institution of higher learning abroad.
GPA minimum grade point average of 3.0.
English Proficiency Exam Required: must submit either official Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL®) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores.
Award recipients who are not U.S. Citizens or permanent residents must meet exchange visitor (J-1 visa) requirements.

Master Scholarship in Sustainable Regional Health Systems at Vilnius university

Overview
This European Master in Sustainable Regional Health Systems aims to fill the gap in Health Management by approaching the theme of health system management and planning on a regional level.

This Master promotes the benchmarking of the different health system models helping to construct the comprehensive health system management and planning, including both, health care and promotion, as well as the interrelation between health and socio-economic areas. It aims to spread out the European model of health promotion and health planning, sustainability and the role of health system in social cohesion and strengthening of social capital.

At the end of the Masters Course the students will graduate with Joint Master`s degree awarded by all Consortium universities and can work as middle and upper level managers in hospitals and health services as well as in regional and national administrative bodies related to public health planning and management in diverse sectors: health insurance, health financing, strategic planning, etc.

Scholarship
If you are a non-EU student (Category A):
Contribution to travel, installation and any other type of costs: € 8000
Maximum contribution to the EMMC participation costs (including insurance coverage):
- € 4000 / semester
- Monthly allowance: € 1000 / month

Admission
Admission may be granted to applicants who meet the following common admission criteria:
A university degree in Sociology, Psychology, Law, Political Science, Anthropology, History, Medicine, Social Work, Social Education, Nursing, Public Health etc, that they want to specialize in the scope of the health.
Candidates are required to have a recognized qualification in the language of instruction of the university that they plan to attend. Knowledge of languages of the place of study is an asset.

Overview
The European Master in Sustainable Regional Health Systems is a two years long interdisciplinary programme of 120 ECTS that aims to give vision, knowledge and tools to develop and manage coherent health systems that contribute both to health and sustainable regional development in their regional communities.

Learning outcomes
Adequate understanding of the different areas of knowledge in relation to social factors affecting patients in critical and complex situations. Knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of health policies and of alternative health models, their costs and consequences.

An understanding of the principles, concepts, policies and practicalities at the leading edge of managing progressive health systems and its relevance to broader public policy agendas.

An understanding of the principles, concepts, policies and practicalities at the leading edge of health entrepreneurship and its relevance to science and technology based business.

The ability to search for alternative solutions with an understanding of the social contexts involved, being aware of the consequences of the option chosen. A good ability to communicate at the level of the working team, groups an d social networks, and also to plan the institutional communication strategy efficiently. A comprehensive vision of the model of management upheld by the institution, being able to develop it and communicate it.

The ability to adapt quickly to the new situations of a system undergoing constant change.

If you are an EU student inside the EU (Category B):

Participation costs must be understood as any compulsory administrative/operational cost related to the participation of the student in the EMMC (e.g. library, laboratory, tuition, social security and insurance costs, etc.). Any other costs that may be charged in addition (e.g. for participation in fieldwork activities), being compulsory or voluntary, must be communicated to the candidate student at application stage.

Monthly allowance amounts may be increased in order to cover the additional costs of students with special needs; EMMCs will have to inform the Agency accordingly in the context of their annual student scholarship applications.

Caterory A
Scholarships can be awarded to masters students selected by EMMC consortia who came from a country other than an eligible applicant country and who are not residents nor have carried out their main activity (studies, work, etc., …) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of these countries.

Category B
Scholoarships can be awarded to any maters students selected by EMMC consortia and who do not fulfil the Category A criteria defined above.
