Description: The Iridium NEXT Scholarship Fund will award scholarships of up to $25,000 to students who have demonstrated high standards of academic excellence in the “STEM” fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with a focus on aerospace studies. The scholarship fund aims to help create a workforce that will f urther the mission of Iridi um NEXT, a bold vis ion for a second-generation satellite constellation to expand Iridium’s capability to meet rapidly expanding demand for truly global mobile communications on land, at sea, and in the sky.

Eligibility:
1. Applicant must have completed at least one academic term of fulltime college work.
2. Applicant must have a college grade point average of not less than the equivalent of a 3.500 on a 4.000 scale.
3. Applicant shall be enrolled in a program of sci ence, technology, engineering, or mathematics with a focus in aerospace.
4. Applicant must meet one of the following criteria: a. Been an intern for an Iridium partner in the past or is currently serving as an intern f or an Ir idium partner (see listing at end of criteria document). b. Is a current student member of AIAA. Sophomores and juniors who receive an award are eligible to reapply for the award in subsequent years provided they continue to meet all eligibility criteria. the value of those that are.
5. If a scholarship award is provided it shall not be less than $5,000.
6. Applicants may be students of any nationality, not restricted by the U.S. State Department, in full-time study at any accredited college or university in the world.
