Scholarship Open for International Students: No
Study Subject: Processing Techniques for Polymer Solar Cells
Beasiswa Level: PhD
Scholarship Provider: Technical University of Denmark
Scholarship can be taken at: Denmark
Scholarship Description: Organic solar cells is a promising technology for converting sunlight into electricity. Their advantages include light weight, flexibility, environmental friendliness, low costs and, most notably, very fast modes of production by standard roll-to-roll (R2R) printing techniques. The power conversion efficiency of OPV cells has been growing steadily at +0.5% per year from 1990, mainly due to the discovery of better performing materials. However, faster progress is needed for a commercial breakthrough. For this to happen, new concepts are required, involving cells based on innovative engineered architectures (R2R printed tandem cell) and new high-performance materials (low band gap, e.g. ~1.5 eV, electrodes, high-performance interface, barrier adhesive). The Department of Energy Conversion and Storage at DTU is among the world’s research leaders in organic solar cells. We are a dynamic and versatile group of people with a positive team spirit who pursue R&D on polymer solar cell technology. Now, a PhD scholarship in processing and manufacturing methods is available in the project “Roll To Roll Production of Organic Tandem Cells (RotRot)” supported by the European Commission.
