Ph.D. in Stem Cell Biology, University of Aachen, Germany
The group „Stem Cell Biology and Cellular Engineering“ is offering a position for a Ph.D. student. The focus of this project is generation and characterization of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) and their interaction with different biomaterials.
Specific epigenetic modifications will subsequently be analyzed under different expansion conditions. Methods for retroviral reprogramming are concurrently refined and all relevant techniques are established in the lab (including culture expansion, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy, qRT-PCR, blotting techniques, microarray platforms for mRNA, microRNA and DNA-methylation profiles and epigenetic analysis with sequencing technology (home page: http://www.ukaachen.de/content/page/10209369).
We are looking for a motivated and ambitious PhD student with a strong background in cell biology. Experience in stem cell biology would be appreciated. Willingness for teamwork is a prerequisite.
We offer a highly interactive and well equipped environment in a team with national and international partners, a broad spectrum of methods and a relevant topic. The position is funded by the Stem Cell Network North Rhine-Westphalia (TV-L E13/2).
The University RWTH Aachen supports women in science and especially encourages them to apply. Handicapped applicants with equal qualifications will be preferred.
Your application should include a cover letter, CV and copies of the most important certificates. It can be send by mail or by e-mail. We are looking forward to your application!
