Gates Cambridge Scholarship for Master’s and Doctoral Study
The Gates Cambridge Scholarship is for one year of study as an affiliated student or graduate student at the University of Cambridge. Scholarship includes the following: tuition, a maintenance allowance sufficient for a single student (£7,750 for 12 months), a further discretionary allowance (£1,500 per year), and one return economy airfare. Students can use the grant toward a second Bachelor degree as an affiliated student, one-year postgraduate courses, or research leading to the degree of PhD. In selecting Gates Cambridge Scholars, the foundation seeks students of exceptional academic achievement and scholarly promise. Students are encouraged to provide evidence of their ability to make a significant contribution to their discipline.
Eligibility: Candidates must:
1. hold, or expect to obtain before the application deadline, a bachelor’s degree
2. gain admission to the University of Cambridge and to a constituent college (the application procedures are separate from the selection procedures for selection as a Gates Cambridge Scholar. Please note, those applying for a Master’s or Doctoral study are admitted to Cambridge through the Board of Graduate Studies; those applying for a second Bachelor’s degree are admitted by a College).

Candidates for a Gates Cambridge Scholarship:
* may come from any country of the world except the United Kingdom.
* may apply to study any subject currently available at the University.
