The Netherlands: MBA Scholarships at Tias Nimbas Tilburg University
Have your MBA scholarship your way!
Practice shows that an MBA, in a business or management related field awarded by an institute of good standing, is a solid investment with a high return. However, we realise that you may need some financial support to make such an investment possible. There are a number of loan and scholarship opportunities for our students, depending on their personal situation.

In honour of the 20th anniversary of the Utrecht campus of TiasNimbas Business School, 20 scholarships of € 10,000 each are available for Full-Time MBA students.
The scholarship will be awarded to candidates with outstanding MBA profiles, meeting all MBA admissions criteria. Candidates will need to include with their application a letter of motivation explaining why TiasNimbas should consider him/her for the scholarship.

If you want to know more about the desirable scholarships please contact Gretchen van der Spek:

Scholarships
Fentener van Vlissingen Scholarship
Thanks to the inspired generosity of Mr Paul Fentener van Vlissingen, exceptional students can apply for a Fentener van Vlissingen Environmental Management MBA Scholarship, which grants 3 winners each an amount of €10,000 towards the cost of a full-time MBA.

Three scholarships will be awarded to full-time MBA students who want to contribute to sustainable development. The recipients will be required to complete their MBA with a research project in the field of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainable Development.

To apply for the scholarship, candidates must write a 1000 word essay. In this essay candidates should outline how, by following a TiasNimbas MBA and completing it with a development related research project, they can benefit their local community or environment. Each candidate’s financial situation and academic credentials will also be considered by the scholarship committee.

The deadline for receipt of essays is 30 April 2007. Completed essays, together with your MBA application form and sent to the TiasNimbas Admissions team.

Study Grants
IB Groep
The Dutch Government has restructured its educational system by introducing the Bachelor-Master system (BaMa) after the European Ministers of Education had agreed to make the educational level for higher vocational education more comparable. The whole of Europe now has an identical educational system consisting of two stages: a Bachelor and a Master stage. For example, if you have completed your Bachelor’s study in Economics in the Netherlands, you will have about the same educational qualifications as one who has completed the same study in France. After completion of a Bachelor’s study, one can specialise further on a Master’s level.

Dutch residents
Studying full-time at a Hogeschool or University entitles Dutch residents to receive a grant by the Dutch Government (studiefinanciering). In addition to financial support, they also receive compensation for travelling costs (OV jaarkaart). These compensations are applicable for the Bachelor as well as the Master stage.

TiasNimbas students are eligible to apply for the grant and the travelling compensation from the Dutch Government. To do so, the following codes are needed:

BRIN no.
27ZC

EBJ no.
MBA
70000

MA in International Business and Marketing Management
70001

MSc in Financial Management
70002

EU or EEA residents
In the Netherlands, an annual tuition fee must be paid for vocational, professional or university education. If you come from an EU or an EEA country and you study in the Netherlands, you may qualify for a grant for tuition fee.

You are eligible for a grant if you:

Have the nationality of an EU country (Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czechia , Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland , Portugal, Spain, Slovenia and Sweden) or Switzerland

Follow a course in the Netherlands which entitles you to a grant for tuition fees or a student grant

Pay the tuition fees in the Netherlands

Are not eligible for a student grant based on the nationality criteria

The grant is paid on a monthly basis and the application must be submitted within four months after the month in which you begin with your study.

For more information, see information on the website of IB Groep for Dutch residents and for EU or EEA residents.

Tax deduction
Programme fees and study-related expenses may be tax deductible . Please contact the local authorities in your country for additional information. For Dutch participants additional information is available on the website of the Belastingdienst.
