The Netherlands: Scholarships for Master Students at The Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e)
Introduction
The Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e), with support from The Shell Centenary Scholarship Fund (TSCSF), offers scholarships to talented postgraduate students from the developing world. The aim of the scholarship is to give students the opportunity to study at the TU/e and gain skills that will make a long-term contribution to the further development of their countries.
Eligible students
Candidates for these scholarships should normally be:
aged 35 or under;
intending to study a subject that will be of significant value in aiding the sustainable development of their home country;
of such outstanding academic ability as to be able easily to obtain a place on the MSc program of their choice;
fluent in spoken and written English;
neither a current nor former employee of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group of companies.
not already enrolled in a TU/e program.
Eligible countries
Students who are nationals of and resident in any country other than the following may apply for a scholarship: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States.
Students must also intend to return and take up permanent residence in their home country/country of residence after completion of the MSc program in the Netherlands.
Costs covered
This is a so-called 'full-cost' scholarship which means that students are granted a fixed amount of money which usually covers tuition fees, international travel, living and other costs.
How many scholarships are available?
6 scholarships will be available for new master students starting their 1st year of master studies in academic year 2007/2008. There are also 6 scholarships for 2nd year Master’s students, who were granted their 1st year scholarship in 2006.
Duration of scholarship
The duration of the master program with a maximum of two years.
Application procedure
All students applying for a TU/e master’s program will automatically be entered in the selection procedure for this scholarship. Students must have applied for admission to a TU/e master’s program before 1 March 2007.
Successful scholarship candidates will be informed mid June 2007.
Please note:
scholarships are awarded for a specific Master’s program for the academic year 2007/2008 and cannot be transferred to other Master’s programs or another academic year.
scholarships are not available for students who are already enrolled at TU/e.
