Beasiswa: De Montfort University’s Vice Chancellor Scholarship

De Montfort University is a dynamic organisation, formed from a diverse range of specialist institutions. The name of De Montfort University is associated with Simon De Montfort, Earl of Leicester, a distinguished figure in English history and widely credited with establishing the first parliament in 1265.

De Montfort University is committed to supporting international students to benefit from study in the UK. For courses starting in September 2008, De Montfort University’s Vice Chancellor is delighted to offer scholarships of £2000 each.
The scholarships are for £2000 equivalent to a reduction of around 20% on the full tuition fees, and will be paid towards the full tuition fees of overseas-status students from any country in the world who wish to study any of the following types of courses at De Montfort University, Leicester:
• Full-time undergraduate degrees (BA/BSc) in any subject
• Full-time Postgraduate Diplomas and Masters courses (PGDip/MA/MSc/MBA/LLM) in any subject
• Full-time MPhil/PhD research degrees in any subject

The Vice Chancellor’s International Scholarships are available for courses starting in September 2008 only (or between September 2008 and June 2009 for MPhil/PhD research degrees).
The £2000 scholarship will be made as a one-off payment and will be deducted from the full tuition fee at the beginning of the first (or only) year of study.

Students progressing to De Montfort University through one of our established progression schemes or collaborative partnerships can also apply for these scholarships if they wish to.
Only overseas status students are eligible to apply.

We will award up to 16 x £2000 scholarships for the above courses starting in September 2008. There will be a limited number of scholarships awarded by Faculty:
• Faculty of Art and Design: up to 3 scholarships
• Faculty of Business and Law: up to 3 scholarships
• Faculty of Computing Sciences and Engineering: up to 5 scholarships
• Faculty of Health and Life Science: up to 2 scholarships
• Faculty of Humanities: up to 3 scholarships

Please note that a few of our courses are not included in this scholarship scheme.

Scholarships will be awarded based on the submission of a 500 word essay, to be written by the applicant and assessed by a panel of De Montfort University representatives (each Faculty will have its own panel).

Deadline for Applications, if you want to apply for an international scholarship, you should have received your letter and proposal submitted essays on August 1, 2008. No essays received after this date will be accepted under any circumstances.
You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your essay submission, when we receive it. Make sure you keep as proof of acceptance of your application, if required.

Beasiswa: The Mary Fran Myers Scholarship

The Mary Fran Myers Scholarship recognizes outstanding individuals who share Mary Fran’s commitment to disaster research and practice and have the potential to make a lasting contribution to reduce disaster vulnerability.

Mary Fran Myers was co-director of the Natural Hazards Center of the University of Colorado for 16 years, until his premature death in 2004. Reducing disaster losses, both nationally and internationally, was their working lives.
provides financial support to the beneficiaries to enable them to attend and participate in the seminar to continue their studies or community work and careers. This scholarship covers all or part of the cost of transportation, hotel accommodation, meals and workshop registration.

The Mary Fran Myers Scholarship is awarded annually to at least one potential workshop participant, which is then formally invited to the seminar. Each year, the recipient or recipients are recognized at the workshop and may be asked to serve as panel discussants, where to deploy their studies or practical experiences in the field of hazards and disasters.

Beasiswa S2: 70 Master Scholarship Program at Glendale Community College 2008

Glendale Community College offers 70 master scholarship program in science, engineering or mathematics. Application Applications are now being accepted for the 2008-2009 school year. The deadline is May 16, 2008.
Students who are accepted into this program are not only guaranteed transfer assistance to a four-year university with transfer application fees paid, but are also given a five week summer bridge/academic enrichment program, for which they will receive a stipend and a top-of-the-line graphing calculator. Scholarship recipients will also receive
approximately $1500 per year if they maintain a 2.5 grade point average and continue progressing in their major. They are assigned a caring professor/mentor to help them with any problems they may encounter during their stay at Glendale College. While in the MASTER scholarship program, students are also able to attend special MASTER Supplemental Instruction (SI) classes to give them additional help with their science, engineering, and math classes.

Students will also have a special MASTER counselor, priority registration and assistance with the development of a student education plan. MASTER scholars will automatically become members of the award-winning MASTER Math Club. Where possible, students can also join the GCC Science Academy.

The Department of Computer Science offers a number of Departmental Undergraduate Scholarships for undergraduates at the start of their university studies. Beasiswa: South East Asia Undergraduate Scholarships 2008 in Malaysia

The Faculty of Biological Sciences at the University of Leeds is one of the largest groups of life-science researchers within the UK, and offers superb facilities and a high quality research training environment for all areas including agriculture, animal and plant sciences, biochemistry and molecular biology, bioinformatics, ecology and evolution, genetics, immunology, microbiology, neurosciences, pharmacology and physiology, and structural molecular biology.

The Faculty of Biological Sciences offers a number of scholarships for students who are both resident and currently being educated in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia or Brunei (Nationals of Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia or Brunei paying full overseas fees but resident outside of their home country may apply for the Faculty of Biological Sciences International Scholarships Scheme). The schemes are open to new undergraduate students who commence a programme of study within the Faculty in September 2008.

The Biological Sciences South East Asia Undergraduate Prize Scholarships - £3,000. For 2008 entry there will be one competitive prize scholarship of £3,000 available for outstanding new undergraduate students from South East Asia (Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia or Brunei).

• How to apply: All applicants will be considered via their UCAS application form.

• Academic criteria: To be awarded as determined by the Faculty International Scholarships Committee.

• Renewal of scholarship: For undergraduate study, the scholarship may be renewed for up to a maximum of three years of study subject to satisfactory academic progress.

To receive any Faculty of Biological Sciences SE Asia Prize Scholarship all students must meet all the following conditions:
• Commence a programme of study in the Faculty of Biological Sciences in September 2008 and be fully registered on 1st December 2008.
• Be a full-time student paying full overseas rated fees.
• Be in receipt of a written scholarship offer from the Faculty and fulfil the academic conditions of that offer.
• Be a national of Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia or Brunei and be resident and educated in that country immediately prior to joining the Faculty of Biological Sciences at the University of Leeds.

Scholarships will be allocated subject to the full terms of the schemes. Students may only be awarded one Faculty of Biological Sciences Scholarship. Faculty of Biological Sciences International Scholarships are not available to students who have other University of Leeds scholarships or bursaries or who have secured alternative external sources of funding e.g. government sponsorship. Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program

Application 2008-2009

Who can apply? - How to Apply - Download Application Form
The Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program provides support to young researchers working in academic and research institutions from developing countries. Fellowships are awarded for a period of five to ten months and must be complete between July 2008 and June 2009. The maximum amount of the grants is US$25,000.

Who can apply?
Only professors and researchers from countries with the right to work in his doctoral thesis can apply the scholarship. Candidates must be under 45 years old, and have completed the course work or any of the examinations required for its doctoral program.

Commitment of fellow

The fellows are required to issue two reports, a report during the period of the fellowship and a final report containing the results of the investigation. The results of the fellows McNamara research work can be considered for publication by the World Bank.

Fellows are expected to return to their home countries and resume their academic or research position after completion of the fellowship. It is also expected to talk about the award of fellowships McNamara any publication relating to their doctoral research work, including their theses, and to provide the program with a copy of his thesis to graduate.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following general criteria to be eligible for a scholarship award:

* Being national and resident of a member country of the World Bank which is currently eligible to borrow;
* Candidates must be under 45 years. Candidates born before January 1, 1964 will not be considered;
* And * Must have completed at least, was awarded a Master’s degree or equivalent, at the time of application;
* Be enrolled regularly in a doctoral program related to development in their places of origin or in another country;
* Must have completed all courses and reviewing the needs of its doctoral program;
* Be employed full-time as a teacher or researcher at an academic institution or research in their country of origin;
* Being accepted as a scholar by a university renowned for a period of five to ten months.

De Montfort University is committed to supporting international students to benefit from study in the United Kingdom. For courses starting in September 2008, De Montfort University’s Vice-Chancellor is pleased to offer scholarships to 2,000 pounds each.

The scholarships are for 2000 pounds equivalent to a reduction of approximately 20% of the total fees, and will be paid for the entire cost of tuition for foreign students, the status of any country in the World who wish to study at one of the following types of

Deadline for Applications
If you want to apply for an international scholarship, you should have received your letter and proposal submitted essays on August 1, 2008. No essays received after this date will be accepted under any circumstances.
You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your essay submission, when we receive it. Make sure you keep as proof of acceptance of your application, if required.

Distribution Process
After a period of August 1, 2008 a team from the DMU (one panel at the Department) will evaluate all sit essay submissions. All successful applicants who have received scholarships will be notified by e-mail and letter (regular mail) on September 1, 2008. In 2000 pounds scholarships will be deducted from the total tuition fee of successful applicants, when you arrive for training at DMU. Details of successful recipients will be available from Maria Kyrris at internationalscholarships@dmu.ac.uk after September 10, 2008, if required.

Application Rule

* Overseas-only status of the students can apply for scholarships.
* Both self-funded and sponsored students have the right to apply for participation.
* No cash alternatives will be offered scholarships and can not be transferred to any other time, the DMU, or other designated recipient.
* Only in September 2008, entry (or between September 2008 and June 2009, for research applicants) - scholarships, could not be deferred to a statement in September 2009 or later.
* For foreign students, who are also entitled to a 5% discount for early payment of their assessed contributions in full to students, in 2000 to £ Scholarship will be deducted from the first full fee, a 5% discount from the fee reduction.
* These scholarships will not be awarded in conjunction with any other awards, such as scholarships for graduates of 2008 - students can only receive a stipend DMU, usually a greater cost.
* If an applicant is available scholarships, and then withdraw their application, or not enrolled in a course, for any reason, loss of scholarships.
* The University reserves the right to withdraw fellowship, or not to provide scholarships, at any time before they are distributed.

Beasiswa Brunai: The Brunel International Scholarship 2008

Brunel University is a world-class university based in Uxbridge, West London. The University distinctive mission has always been to combine academic rigour with the practical, entrepreneurial and imaginative approach pioneered by our namesake Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Brunel University is delighted to announce scholarships totaling
£100,000 to international applicants to the University, available to both undergraduate and postgraduate applicants. This year, our awards are divided into 40 scholarships of £2,500 per student and are open to any international student who holds a conditional or unconditional offer from Brunel for September 2008/2009.

Beasiswa S2: Master Gardeners 2008-2009 Iowa State University Scholarship

The ISU Linn County Extension Master Gardeners scholarship is available for seniors graduates who are residents of Linn County and who attend secondary schools in Linn County. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior seeking a degree in the field of horticulture Iowa to a college or university.

The Linn County Extension Office is a part of a county, state, and federal partnership bringing the resources of Iowa State University and the USDA to
you. Your Linn County Extension Office has research-based information and educational programs to help families, communities, business people, and youth make informed decisions.We provide information and informal educational opportunities to adults and youth on a variety of topics relating to agriculture, business and industry, communities, families, home gardening and youth.

The year grants will be awarded for a total of $ 1000.00. To receive the Scholarship recipient will be formally enrolled in a college chose Iowa. Half ($ 500.00) will be awarded at the beginning of the first half and the second half ($ 500.00) will be awarded early in the second half. To receive payment the recipient must provide the official status of the college registration at the Linn County Master Gardeners’ office. The money will be deposited to the recipient’s financial account of the college.
To apply for the Linn County Master Gardener 2008-2009 Scholarship, please download and complete the scholarship application and mail or deliver the application of scholarships, Master Gardeners Linn County, Linn County ISU Extension Office, 3279 Seventh Avenue Suite 140, Marion, IA 52302, no later than March 30, 2008. Notification of the award will be made by April 30, 2008.
